What is a Remote Online Notarization?

Remote Online Notarization (RON) is a process that enables individuals to complete a notarization remotely through an electronic device and secure internet connection, offering a convenient and efficient alternative to in-person notarization.

How long does it take?

The online notarial session will take as little as 5-15 minutes. This includes uploading the document, verifying your ID, connecting with a notary, and notarizing your documents.

How much does remote online notarization cost?

Sessions are typically $25 per stamp and that includes Arizona state regulated fee of $10 per notarial act, Administrative/Platform Fees, Doc Setup & ID Verification. Get a free quote for exact pricing. 

Is it necessary to be a US citizen to utilize my service?

No. To complete the verification process, you need to either be a US citizen or have a US-based public profile. However, if you do not meet these requirements, you can have a witness verify your identity.

How do I receive my notarized document?

Your document will be sent to the email associated with your order, accessed through your dashboard (My Sessions → Your Document), or can be downloaded at the end of your session. 

Does your ID verification accept passports?

Yes, we accept U.S. passports, driver’s licenses, and government-issued IDs

Is a remote online notarized document an original?

Yes, a remotely online notarized document (RON) is considered an original. The process involves the signer and notary interacting remotely via audio-visual technology, with the document, signature, and notarization all being electronic. The National Notary Association confirms that the electronic seal affixed by the notary is the original version

Is online notarization secure?

Yes. To ensure compliance with state law, online notarizations have strict requirements, including secure verification and protection of your identity. My preferred platform, Proof, is certified by MISMO, which is a higher standard of security protocols commonly used in the mortgage industry.

What technology is used for remote online notarization?

Through the use of electronic signature, identity verification, audio-visual communication and electronic notarial journal and record keeping technologies.

Acceptable Forms of Identification include:

  • U.S. Driver’s License - the presentation of a foreign license for the purpose of identification is not accepted in Arizona - except when conducting real estate transactions

  • U.S. Passport - the presentation of a foreign passport for the purpose of identification is not accepted in Arizona - except when conducting real estate transactions

  • Armed Forces ID

  • Government Issued ID

  • Inmate ID - An inmate identification card for incarcerated signers only

  • Permanent resident card - A valid, unexpired green card issued on or after May 11, 2010

  • Tribal ID - A tribal identification card that includes the bearer's signature

  • Credible person(s) - For foreign signers without US identification

  4. On-Time Arrival: Please make sure to arrive on time for your appointment. Being late may result in rescheduling, which can cause delays and inconvenience.

  5. Proper Identification: You will be required to provide valid identification during the appointment. Please make sure to have a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport, ready to show to the notary.
